Swinging to Tackle Kids Cancer

Batter up! The softball team from Immaculate Heart Academy banded together for another successful year to fundraise for Eli’s Challenge and raised more than $20,000, a team record, to support Tackle Kids Cancer, a philanthropic initiative to raise much-needed funds for pediatric cancer research, patient support programs and clinical trials at the Children’s Cancer Institute.

The team came together again to honor late Immaculate Heart Academy softball coach Anthony LaRezza. The fundraising coincides with the team’s annual LaRezza Invitational Tournament, in which Immaculate Heart Academy hosts top softball teams from around New Jersey to raise money for Tackle Kids Cancer.

Tackle Kids Cancer kicks off Eli’s Challenge annually in support of Tackle Kids Cancer. Eli’s Challenge, captained by #TeamTKC Eli Manning, is a fundraising challenge to encourage and support grassroots fundraisers. Since its first year in 2016, communities all around New Jersey join #TeamTKC and raise money for Tackle Kids Cancer.

The challenge, inspired by scout troops, youth sports, and teams, like the Immaculate Heart Academy softball, brings together so many wonderful supporters. Eli’s Challenge is year-round, and those interested can join #TeamTKC whenever or however is best for them by setting up a fundraising page to rally in support of a TKC MVP (Most Valiant Patient) battling cancer or in honor/memory of a loved one. Supporters can even create one to celebrate their birthdays, during certain awareness months or any other time they are inspired.

We thank the Immaculate Heart Academy softball team for their continued dedication and support year after year! To learn more about Eli’s Challenge or start your own fundraiser, visit GiveHMH.org/ElisChallenge.
