Meet Matthew
When we first met Matthew, he loved doing “normal kid stuff” despite his leukemia diagnosis, like swimming and playing at summer camp. The soon-to-be fifth grade student is still as energetic as ever, enjoying taekwondo and wrestling. But now he gets to do it cancer-free!
“TKC is important because not many people realize that childhood cancer is underfunded.”
- Matthew
At nine-years-old, Matthew is a young advocate for Tackle Kids Cancer. But what he lacks in age and stature, he makes up for in passion and enthusiasm.
“TKC is important because not many people realize that childhood cancer is underfunded,” he explains.
He understands the hardships of fighting cancer, but he hopes that his perseverance will inspire other kids battling similar diagnoses.
“It’s hard and it stinks,” Matthew says. “But even the hard days get better. Stay strong and keep kicking cancer’s butt!”
