Tackle Kids Cancer was honored to once again be the official charity of the PGA TOUR Northern Trust. The tournament, the first in the FedEx Cup, was held August 19 to 22 at Liberty National Golf Course in Jersey City, NJ. While this year’s tournament had some delays because of Hurricane Henri, our Tackle Kids Cancer team and patients were able to enjoy the first few days of the event.
This year, Tackle Kids Cancer hosted a Kids Zone full of fun games and activities for the youngest spectators. Fans were able to learn more about Tackle Kids Cancer, support its cause and have some fun out of the heat playing golf games and basketball.
On Saturday, several patients served as honorary pin holders at the 17th hole. As is our tradition, the MVPs, along with their siblings, sat behind the ropes and held the pin for some of the world’s best golfers while they took their shot.
“We are grateful to the PGA and the Northern Trust for their commitment to Tackle Kids Cancer and the unique opportunities they give our patients,” said Amy Glazer, executive director, Children’s Health and Tackle Kids Cancer, Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation.
